Read More About The Book

As a researcher and medical professional involved with cancer patients, Andrew St. James, faced with the incomprehensible and irreconcilable level of suffering experienced by the cancer patients he worked with, sought answers to the dilemma of human suffering. Questions arose that had no answers. Are we not meant to be happy in this world? Why is suffering so intimately married to our human condition? Why do we struggle so much to break away from its stranglehold? The remedies and solutions he recommended to the struggling patients only mildly relieved the suffering. One day, while surfing the internet, looking for literature on human suffering, he found two books that would change his life forever: The Manual for Interior Souls, by Jesuit priest and mystic, Fr Jean Nicolas Grou (1st edition, 1892), and Saint Germaine: Victim of Circumstance, by publishing house, From the Housetops.

Germaine-book

These publications so captured both the author’s heart and intellect that he began exploring, with the assistance of the Saint-Germaine shrine archivist, Monsieur Jean-Pierre Jouffreau, the actual historical documents describing the life of this poor, humble, and exceedingly mistreated 16th-century shepherdess. Andrew St. James discovered that human suffering had a mysterious, mystical value he had never suspected. GERMAINE: Requiem of a Soul/The True Story of Cinderella is but a humble attempt at scratching the surface of the true meaning of suffering, beneath which lies a deep well of invaluable knowledge, rich in wisdom and unimaginable in grace.
